Training Description

This applied workshop introduces clinicians to ethical, practical ways to integrate core elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to support stabilization and trauma-informed care. Rather than full model training, the focus is on responsibly borrowing foundational concepts to enhance client safety, readiness, and emotional regulation.

Participants will explore shared principles between DBT and EMDR, learn how to assess stability, and gain practical strategies for grounding, resourcing, and skill sequencing. This workshop is ideal for clinicians seeking flexible, evidence informed tools they can immediately apply across diverse clinical settings.

Why should you attend?

  • Move beyond siloed treatment
  • Shift between skills and processing
  • Stabilize without stalling progress
  • Reduce retraumatization
  • Walk away with practical tools

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify core DBT- and EMDR informed principles that support client stabilization and safety in trauma informed clinical practice.
  2. Differentiate between full model DBT/EMDR treatment and ethically appropriate integration of selected techniques within scope of practice.
  3. Apply DBT informed skills and EMDR informed preparation strategies to assess and enhance client readiness for trauma work.
  4. Develop a clinically sound rationale for sequencing stabilization interventions prior to deeper trauma processing.

Upon completing the live virtual training, you will receive a Certificate of Attendance for attending the training.
