Training Description
Do you worry that you’ll miss important HIPAA updates? Are you concerned that your organization will be non-compliant?
Join us on June 24, 2026 from 10:00 – 11:00 am!
This webinar will review some recent and upcoming changes to HIPAA regulations. It’s important, but time consuming, to stay on top of HIPAA changes.
Recent and upcoming changes include:
• Covered entities and Business Associates must conduct comprehensive compliance audits at least annually.
• Updating Notice of Privacy Practices to include SUD information.
• Formal testing of administrative, physical, and technical safeguards is required every 12 months.
• Changing the maximum time to provide access to PHI from 30 days to 15 days.
• The distinction between “addressable” and “required” is being eliminated, making many previously "addressable" items mandatory.
• Updated standards emphasize strict, documented encryption and secure key management, aligning with NIST standards.
• Allowing patients to inspect PHI in person and take notes or photographs of their PHI.
