HIPAA for Behavioral Health Team Members is designed for all behavioral health workers who want to ensure they are meeting HIPAA standards and protecting both themselves and their organizations from potential risks.

• How to determine whether you and your agency are subject to HIPAA regulations
• The importance of maintaining compliance
• Key differences between HIPAA, state privacy laws, and 42 CFR Part 2
Learning Objectives
- Participants will be able to explain what Protected Health Information is and why and how it is protected by HIPAA regulations.
- Participants will be able to explain the difference between HIPAA Privacy and Security.
- Participants will gain an understanding of when 42 CFR Part 2 applies to their work.
